This is me (Lisa) on the path to making myself a better mom, wife, and passive income entrepreneur.
This year, I want to be better at all 3 and I’ve decided that journaling is a great place to start.
I couldn’t find any journaling prompts that applied to me in this season of life so I asked ChatGPT to write some.
If this article found you, welcome! Motherhood feels lonely sometimes so it’s nice that someone can relate to my goals and situation.
Now, let’s do this!
Week 1: Gratitude and Connection
Starting your journaling journey with gratitude sets a positive tone and helps you build deeper connections with yourself and your family.
This week focuses on appreciating the little things in your life and creating a strong emotional foundation for your work and family goals.
Skip Ahead:
Day 1: Reflect on What You’re Grateful For
Gratitude shifts your mindset to abundance and joy.
Write down three things you’re deeply grateful for today—one about your family, one about your business, and one about yourself.
Action: Share one of these with your husband or kids to start the day with positivity.
Day 2: Celebrate Your Wins
Big or small, your achievements deserve recognition.
Think about a recent small win in your business, family life, or personal growth.
What made it feel like a win?
Action: Reward yourself, even with something simple like a cup of tea or five minutes to relax.
Day 3: Identify Your Core Why
Your “why” drives everything you do.
Write about what motivates you to work hard for your family and future.
Why did you start your passive income journey? Reflect on how this aligns with your goals for your family and yourself.
Action: Write this “why” on a sticky note and place it where you’ll see it daily.
Day 4: What Brings Joy to Your Kids?
Understanding your children’s happiness helps you prioritize meaningful moments.
Write about what lights up their world.
Reflect on the moments when your children seem happiest. How can you create more of these moments?
Action: Plan one joy-filled activity for them this week.
Day 5: Gratitude for Your Husband
Your husband is your partner in this journey.
Write down three qualities you appreciate about your husband.
Action: Tell him one of these today.
Day 6: Gratitude for Yourself
You’re doing amazing things!
What’s one thing you’ve done recently that you’re proud of?
Write about three qualities or strengths you admire in yourself.
Action: Celebrate your effort, not just your results. Whether that means pouring yourself a celebratory wine tonight after the kids are in bed or breaking out a pampering face mask, your efforts deserve to be celebrated!
Day 7: Visualize Balance
Balance doesn’t mean perfection—it means alignment. (Read that again!)
Visualize what a perfectly balanced day looks like for you and your family.
Action: Pick one thing from this vision to implement tomorrow.
Keep Going!
This week, you’ve laid a strong foundation by cultivating gratitude and connection. Use these reflections to stay grounded as you navigate the weeks ahead.
As a Christian, work-from-home mom who has also let her relationship with God slip, I’m pairing this 50-day journaling challenge with a 100-Day devotional.
I highly recommend 100 Days To Brave by Annie F. Downs if you’re looking for motivation to take action during this difficult season of motherhood.
She also just came out with a Kids’ version called 100 Days to Brave for Kids: Devotions for Overcoming Fear and Finding Your Courage!
