Valentine’s Day Toddler Breakfasts
Start your day off with a fun surprise!
Strawberry Banana Oatmeal
We always make our oatmeal on the stove with just milk, cinnamon, and a little vanilla. Then, we mix in our toppings. For this Valentine’s Day breakfast, I decided to use bananas as the sweetener and fresh strawberries to make it a little more festive.
Grocery List:
- Oats
- Fresh Strawberries
- Banana
- Cinnamon
- Vanilla
I stirred in bite-sized strawberry and banana pieces for my toddler, then sliced the strawberries into hearts to add to his plate. See how I sliced them below:
Heart-Shaped Pancakes
We love pancakes at our house! For this, I used my favorite banana oatmeal pancake recipe from HerHighnessHungryMe.com and topped it with raspberry syrup.
Grocery List:
- Favorite Pancake Recipe (My fav calls for banana, egg, oats, greek yogurt, cinnamon)
- Syrup
- Fresh Raspberries
To make your pancakes into hearts, either cook up your normal circular pancakes, then use a cookie cutter to cut out hearts, OR you can use a non-stick heart pancake ring like this:

Valentine’s Day Toddler Meals
Make your little one feel special with a lunch or dinner that even picky eaters are sure to love, but also feels festive!
Heart Mac & Cheese
A twist on this toddler classic will make your Valentine’s Day meal extra special for the little guys!
Grocery List:
- Heart-Shaped Noodles
- Your Favorite Cheese Sauce (my mom always used Velveeta, milk, and butter)
- Optional Sides: Hot Dogs and Strawberry Applesauce
I love these heart-shaped noodles I found on Amazon. They’re a little pricey for noodles but as a once-a-year treat, it’s not bad!
Heart-Shaped Noodles on AmazonHeart-Shaped Hot Dogs
A super-easy food that any toddler is sure to love. (Add catsup on top to make it red!)
Grocery List:
- Hot Dogs
- Catsup
- Optional Sides: Heart-Shaped Mac & Cheese and Strawberry Applesauce
Just cook the hot dogs and slice them in half lengthwise. Next, slice the ends diagonally so that you can form two sides of your heart on the plate.
Heart-Shaped Cauliflower Pizza
A healthier version of my son’s favorite meal! This recipe from SweetAsHoney.com was loved by both my toddler and my husband, so I’m really looking forward to adding this to our favorite recipe rotations.
Grocery List:
- 1 Medium-Sized Cauliflower Head (or 5 cups of cauliflower rice)
- 1 Egg
- ½ Cup Mozzarella (plus more for topping)
- Your Favorite Pizza Sauce
- Your Favorite Pizza Toppings (we did cheese and bacon!)
- Optional Sides: Green Beans and Heart-shaped Apple Slices
I grated my cauliflower the night before, then followed the pizza crust recipe for lunch the next day. I shaped my pizza dough into personal-sized hearts and baked for about 15 minutes, then added toppings and popped it back in the oven until the cheese melted.
On the side, I added green beans and apples cut into hearts with my cookie cutter. The bonus with this recipe is that these pizza crusts are Keto-friendly, gluten-free, and grain-free!
Heart-Shaped PB&J
A super quick and easy go-to for lunch or snack on Valentine’s Day.
Grocery List:
- Bread
- Peanut Butter
- Strawberry Jelly
- Optional Sides: Fresh Strawberries and Cucumbers
All I did was spread the peanut butter AND jelly on one slice of bread. (The strawberry jelly should be on top so the heart appears red.) With the other slice of bread, I cut out a heart with my cookie cutter so that the jelly would show through.
On the side, I cut apples and cucumbers with the same heart cookie cutter, then added some fresh raspberries on top! My son actually said, “Wow!” when he saw his plate. ♡
Heart-Shaped Grilled Ham & Cheese
The same concept as the PB&J sandwich! You can either make your grilled cheese sandwich, then cut the whole sandwich into a heart shape, OR just cut a heart from one of the slices of bread so the cheese shows through.
Grocery List:
- Bread
- Cheese
- Ham
- Optional Sides: Tomato Soup or Heart-shaped Carrots and Apples
**A great alternative to this might be a ham and cheese quesadilla!
Valentine’s Day Toddler Snacks
Keep the fun going throughout the day with these super easy toddler snacks.
Jell-O
For my toddler, I just poured my Jell-O into a shallow pan. Once it was cool, I took my L-O-V-E cookie cutters (from Walmart) and cut out the shapes for him. This was his first time eating Jell-O and he absolutely loved it! I’ll definitely keep this in my back pocket as an occasional holiday treat.
Grocery List:
- Strawberry Jell-O
- Valentine’s Day Cookie Cutter or Silicon Mold
Heart-Shaped Healthy Snacks

I got my L-O-V-E cookie cutters in the dollar section at Walmart but there are similar options available on Amazon:

Grocery List:
- Bread or English Muffin

Toddlers love popsicles. Here’s a healthier and more festive treat that can be used as a dessert for your Valentine’s Day meal:
Grocery List:
- Fresh Red Berries
- Plain Greek Yogurt
- Honey (Not recommended for children under 1 year)
Just blend these 3 ingredients! Add your blended mixture to an ice cube tray, small cup, or silicon mold. Next, cover with aluminum foil and stick a popsicle stick through the foil, down into the mixture. Eat when frozen!
You can turn these into yogurt bites by scooping your blended mixture into a Ziplock back, cutting a small hole in the corner, and piping the yogurt out onto a pan in bite-sized dollops. Extra points if you want to pipe out heart shapes!
Valentine’s Day Toddler Drinks
Wash it all down with something red or pink!
Strawberry Milk
Grocery List:
- Whole Milk
- Fresh Strawberries
Personally, I don’t like all the added sugar in most store-bought strawberry milk but E loves milk and I thought it would be fun to add a red version to our Valentine’s Day meals. All I did was blend his whole milk with about 3 fresh strawberries and he loved it!
Red Smoothie
Who doesn’t feel fancy drinking a strawberry smoothie? When I was growing up, my mom always used to serve a red smoothie at family dinner every Valentine’s Day. We would use the “fancy glasses” and it really felt like a spectacular evening!
Below are two of my toddler’s favorite smoothie recipes:
Strawberry-Banana Smoothie Grocery List:
- Whole Milk
- Strawberries
- 1 Banana
- Honey or Peanut Butter (Not recommended for children under 1 year)
- Chia Seeds
Strawberry-Orange Smoothie Grocery List:

Just blend and serve. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
